For every type of mobility and distance covered we calculate the CO₂ balance. For this we use the CO₂ data from Ecoinvent and the German Federal Environment Agency.
Ecoinvent was founded more than 20 years ago by various research institutions of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich as a non-profit company and currently holds the most extensive data collection for calculating CO₂ balances.
Vehicle Settings
For the individual vehicle settings that each user can make in the app, we have also worked together with the ADAC. The emissions are determined based on your car type and its individual consumption.
In addition, you can enter your participation in carpooling and thus significantly improve your personal CO₂ balance for all car journeys.
Where to find it: You can find these vehicle settings in the app under the menu item "MORE".
Calculation Method
The method for calculating CO₂ emissions is called:
- Tank To Wheel (TTW) - CO₂ emissions during combustion
- Well To Tank (WTT) - CO₂ emissions during transport from the source to the car tank
